Works of God: Living for God

This weekend I went to Minneapolis MN on deputation for Team China. The Lord gave us travel mercies and the fellowship made the 7 hour trip fairly fast. Mr. Carpenter preached a message based out of Ezra 3 on missed opportunities. This opportunity to Go to China is incredible, we will be able to present the gospel in very unique ways. In Class we will be able to present the true story of Christmas, and Easter. I am truly excited about this opportunity and pray that I don't miss it. The Lord has great things in story for us on Team China 2006.

This past month has been a purging month for me. in many senses it has been rather rough. Several times the Lord has dug deep into areas in my life that were not fully surrendered. The past 2 weeks Gods word has been working so greatly in my life through personal devotions, chapels, and classes. This morning I heard a message from Mr. Brent Belford (a proof at Northland) The message was entitle the love that God hates, man let me tell you I needed this so much. He used 2 illustrations that deal with the emptiness of the world (one side note, have you ever thought about how empty things are to the world, I mean when we seek the world its not just empty to us but to them as well. could you imagine living day to day like that) he compared it to Pirates of the Caribbean's. I'm sure all of you have seen it, the part when the men on the ship are under the moon and the captain drinks some wine and it goes state through him and drips onto the floor. He doesn't have the ability to savor, or enjoy it. No matter how much he drank or how much he tried there would never be any fulfillment from that. It was such a challenge to me, am I feeding my flesh something that will never satisfy such as the contraption the Eskimos made to take care of the wolfs. They took knifes and put frozen blocks of blood around them. when a wolf comes up they lick it for a while then they get into it as the blood begins to melt and soon they begin cutting their tongue and eventually killing themselves. That's kind of a graphic image of what it is like when we seek after the world. What we are doing when we do that is taking out our dagger and stabbing Christ in the heart. Do you love God? Then why do you not live for him? Living after the world is showing dependence in self and thus showing that we do not love God
