During this time of thanksgiving it is so easy to be thankful for all of the material things that we have. Not to downplay the Lords provisions in providing, but we often overlook the character of God. There ought not be anything to be more thankful for than Gods character, and thus I have listed below some names that stuck out to me during church this afternoon.
His love constrains us
God never gives up on us
His love is unchanging
Christ is REAL
Christ shows Mercy through sin
God is trustworthy
God is Immutable
God is a provider
He gives Mercy's a-new
Abba
Source of truth
Faithful
Things don't happen TO me, they happen FOR me.
God is righteous and perfect in ALL ways
Don't ever forget the God who made you, saved you, and called you. Its easy to do, I know cause I do it all the time; however it ought not to be.
Personal Challenge: I am going change my prayer life for this week from asking God for things to simply thanking God for everything. It's interesting all the things that I thank God for is all the things that I pray for. Isn't that funny? Shows how selfish I am. Not that asking isn't important, its just that God deserves so much more than my petitions, he wants my PRAISE!
