1000 silver dishes

We all have those “impossible” requests, don’t we? When the devil or quite simple your own doubt in Gods power distracts you from Gods promises remember this:

Nehemiah prayed for years that the Lord would do great things. What great things? Things that were “impossible” in the eyes of man but things that were easily taken care of in the eyes of God. Nehemiah went to the King and asked that he be allowed to leave his post of service to the Kings and return to Jerusalem and rebuild the walls. Nehemiah was not only granted his request but was given soldiers for his protection.

Jerusalem had just been taken over by Cyrus, Kings of Persia. The Lord moved his heart in the first year of captivity to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. This had happened simple because it was the Lords will. A decree was immediately issued declaring that all people who were able were to return to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple. Not only did the people of Israel give of their gold and silver to pay for the temple, but also the King gave of his own plunder: Gold dishes, silver dishes, silver pans, gold bowls, matching silver bowls, and other articles. God once again worked one of His “impossible” miracles.
