Works of God: The Great High Priest

To me, for so many years, the Great High Priest didn't really mean anything. After studying the Pentateuch and the Gospels it has been great to see the difference between the high priest of the Pentateuch and the Great High Priest of the New Testament. There is a vast amount of difference
The high priest of the Pentateuch could only give sacrifice, he could never totally atone the sin of the people. No person in the Old Testament could know the savior as we know him today. With a Great High Priest we can boldly enter into His presence. we are not required to go through a priest, all we have to do is calm ourselves down and enter.
The Saving grace that the Great High Priest gives is the greatest gift. It is kinda neat that I came to this study around Christmas time because what a gift, that Christ would come to earth and intercede for us. Think about it, the Old Testament people could never do that. They could never have full atonement through one sacrifice, it was through many sacrifices that they could keep a personal relationship with God.
